The Coastal Ocean Observation Lab (COOL) at Rutgers University is looking for a motivated Web Developer to join our team of nationally recognized oceanographers, educators, technicians and software developers. This position will assist in the development of a suite of online applications to support virtual collaboration, online education, and data visualization, in both undergraduate and informal educational settings.
The COOL team, in partnership with the University of Maine and Raytheon, is currently developing the education infrastructure of the Ocean Observatories Initiative, a long-term, National Science Foundation -funded program to construct a networked infrastructure of science-driven sensor systems to measure the physical, chemical, geological and biological variables in the ocean and seafloor. Greater knowledge of these variables is vital for improved detection and forecasting of environmental changes and their effects on biodiversity, coastal ecosystems and climate. The successful applicant will work with the rest of the OOI team to build cutting edge online educational applications to support the OOI project.
