Dr. Trowbridge serves as the principal investigator for OOI and is responsible for the operation and management of this large project, which involves ~ 160 scientists, engineers, and data experts who keep the five arrays operational and that relay four terabytes of ocean data each month. He participated in the design, construction, deployment, operation and maintenance of the coastal Pioneer Array off the New England coast and Global Arrays in the Irminger Sea, Northeast Pacific, Southern Ocean, and Argentine Basin. His scientific expertise is in coastal hydrodynamics and sediment transport and ocean observing systems.
