The National Science Foundation Ocean Observatories Initiative Facility Board is hosting a series of virtual Ocean Observing Exchanges to support community discussion around the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) on future ocean observing priorities.
These Zoom-based sessions will provide an opportunity to discuss the DCL questions, share perspectives, and develop ideas to help inform individual and organizational responses to NSF.
Sessions will cover topics including OOI’s Regional Cabled Array and COSZO, ocean carbon and biogeochemistry, seafloor fiber sensing and SMART cables, air-sea interactions, infrastructure for hypothesis-driven research, and more.
The first exchange is Friday, September 11 at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT, with additional sessions throughout September.
