Dr. Anna Pfeiffer-Herbert is an Associate Professor and Chair of Marine Science at Stockton University. A coastal physical oceanographer, she uses acoustic and other oceanographic sensors to investigate water column processes in estuarine and coastal environments. She is also a leading contributor to the OOI Data Labs Project, where she develops classroom-ready activities and curriculum materials that help undergraduate students engage with real OOI datasets and build strong data literacy skills.

Pfeiffer-Herbert holds an M.S. in Ocean Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island, and postdoctoral research experience at Oregon State University. She has been deeply involved in Marine Technology Society (MTS) education initiatives, including serving on the MTS Education Committee and as a faculty advisor for the New Jersey statewide MTS Student Section and will begin a three-year appointment as VP of Education in 2026.
