Rutgers University
Sage Lichtenwalner is a research programmer (and UX designer) in the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University, where he works on several ocean data management, data literacy, and broader impact projects. He is a Co-PI on OOI Data Labs project and also serves as the Information Manager on the Palmer LTER project. His work focuses on developing tools, tutorials, and interactive visualizations that help educators, students, and researchers explore and analyze oceanographic data from ocean observing networks like the OOI. Through the creation of data visualization activities, lab exercises, and community workshops, Sage helps expand the use of authentic OOI datasets in education and research, supporting efforts to build ocean data literacy and promote broader engagement with ocean observing systems.
