Three Moorings Redeployed at OOI’s Coastal Endurance Array
Three moorings have been redeployed at OOI’s Coastal Endurance Array, with data now flowing and additional deployments planned for spring 2027.
Three moorings have been successfully redeployed at the U.S. National Science Foundation Ocean Observatories Initiative’s (OOI) Coastal Endurance Array, marking an important step toward restoring sustained ocean observations off the Pacific Northwest coast.
During the October 3–5 Endurance Array 25 expedition aboard the R/V Sally Ride, the Oregon State University (OSU) team redeployed three of the array’s seven moorings. Data from the redeployed moorings are now flowing to the OOI Data Explorer, with meteorological observations also being shared through NOAA’s National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).
The remaining four moorings are scheduled for redeployment in spring 2027, continuing the phased restoration of the Endurance Array’s observing capabilities.
